Talk through the clue

Rehaunted Radio and Dialogue Guide

Radio dialogue is part of the investigation loop, not background chatter.

Quick answer

Check the radio after a meaningful photo, board connection, or contradiction. Read every option as a theory about the evidence. If your partner pushes back, return to the clue that theory depends on rather than choosing another line at random.

When to check the radio

  • After the camera records a new discovery.
  • After adding or connecting evidence on the board.
  • When two clues directly contradict each other.
  • After revisiting a room and seeing a new lens-only event.

Checking after every ordinary object slows the pace. Save the radio for moments when the case has actually changed.

Read dialogue options as hypotheses

Before choosing, translate each line into a claim. Is it blaming a person, changing the timeline, questioning a witness, or asking about a room? Pick the line that tests the weakest part of your current theory, not simply the most dramatic wording.

The Steam description says radio choices expand the investigation and challenge assumptions. That means a response that disagrees with you is useful: it identifies the assumption that needs another piece of evidence.

What to do after the conversation

New person namedRecheck belongings, fingerprints, and recordings tied to that person.
Timeline challengedCompare recordings and before/after scenes.
Room questionedReturn with the lens, UV, or camera chosen in advance.
No new leadGo back to the board and find the least-connected clue.

Keep a tiny dialogue log

Write one line after an important call: “I claimed ___; partner challenged ___; next check ___.” This prevents conversations from becoming vague story flavor and gives you a concrete reason to revisit a room.

Update 02 changed how the radio works

The radio dialogue system was rebuilt on launch day. The old version was opened with Shift, and it could fail to trigger or interfere with movement and interactions. Now dialogue options appear automatically — you pick your response and confirm it with the Interaction button.

The practical consequence: if a guide or a comment tells you to press Shift to open a conversation, it is describing the pre-launch build. Everything above works the same either way, because the thinking loop did not change — only how you open the conversation and confirm the answer.
